Fireworks 2008

We all gathered at Chris’s and Camilla’s gain this year for a fireworks party. The rain held off until all the fireworks were finished and everyone had a great time - particularly the large tribe of young boys who spent the evening teetering on the edge of hysterical excitement.

Isabel and I have just spent a lovely ten days visiting Ilse and Mick in Munich and then spending times staying near the small town of Bayrischzell in the Bavarian Alps. Other than a cancelled flight on the way out (and an unscheduled night in a hotel at Stansted) we had a fabulous time - the photos are here.

Isabel and I spent a very lovely week in Lyme Regis and in between the fish and chips managed a few very pleasant hikes around various bits of the beautiful coast. The photos are here.

A weekend in Weston Super Mare

Just had a long weekend in Weston Super Mare with John and Moira. Hiked both sides of the Cheddar Gorge, visited the splendid Wells Cathedral, strolled on several windy beaches, climbed Glastonbury Tor and eat fish and chips. All the photos are here.

Rosie at Timbuktu Airport

Rosie has been covering the Festival in the Desert for the Guardian for the last week. The festival, held in the Sahara Desert north of Timbuktu is an annual gathering of African and world musicians.
